How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    M&E Maintenance Engineer – Overview

    We are currently working with one of the UK’s largest District Heating and M&E Maintenance providers who are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team, looking after a key site in East London. The role is technically ‘Mobile’ however all of the work is on a single site in East London – QE Olympic Park. You would still have a van provided in order to move between buildings and carry stock etc.

    The company are contracted to look after the 2 x Energy Centres which provide the energy for the whole site. The Energy Centres feed the substations/plant rooms in each Tower Block. You do not have to enter any of the residential properties connected to the heat networks, your role will solely cover the main plant rooms and pipework up to the properties. You will carry out PPM and Reactive Maintenance on Mechanical and Electrical Plant Equipment including Pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pressurisation units and BMS Controls.

    Duties include:

    * Troubleshoot faults, diagnose issues, and repair or replace defective parts

    * Oversee repairs and perform emergency breakdown maintenance to minimise plant downtime

    * Implement and manage the preventive maintenance schedule to reduce unplanned breakdowns

    * Maintain records of all maintenance activities, including inspections

    There is a call out rota which runs at 1-in-4 however as the sites are all clustered together, the travelling is kept to a minimum. Usually, you will get a minimum of 4 x hours pay for a call out, regardless of the time you are there!

    M&E Maintenance Engineer – Requirements

    * Demonstrable understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems.

    * Proven accuracy in monitoring and inspecting equipment to prevent potential issues.

    * Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Plumbing or Mechanical discipline

    M&E Maintenance Engineer – Salary & Remuneration

    * Salary of £42,230 - £43,555
