How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you an experienced Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer with a solid 3 phase Electrical background? Are you looking for a home based Service Engineer role with regular travel to customer sites? As our new Service Engineer, you’ll be servicing and attending breakdowns on hoists, indoor cranes and other lifting equipment on various customer sites in Hampshire and the surrounding areas. This is a perfect opportunity for an experienced Engineer looking for a new challenge, or an Engineer looking to change industries.

    BASIC SALARY: Up to £50,000 depending on your relevant experience and qualifications

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer - cranes, hoists, lifting equipment

    You will be home based (living around the Yateley area) and reporting into our Service Manager who used to be an Engineer with us, so knows the role well.

    You’ll visit sites to service, repair and maintain a variety of our machinery and equipment – ranging from gantry cranes to hoists and other associated lifting equipment. That will cover about 60% of your week, as you'll also support our installation team commissioning.

    We have a loyal customer base spread over manufacturing / industrial environments and a solid product range where we are regularly introducing new products and re-engineering our existing ones.

    YOUR BACKGROUND: Field Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer - cranes, hoists, lifting equipment

    You’ll be a qualified Electrical Engineer (either apprentice trained or through education ONC/HNC/HND etc) with a background in static maintenance or field service for 3 phase – ideally you will hold your C&G 2365 in Electrical Installation too.

    You will be happy working at height, comfortable with 3 phase electrics and have a background of relevant transferable machinery such as hydraulics, motors, gearboxes, inverter-controlled machinery, industrial machinery, pneumatics etc. We can teach you our products.

    If you answered YES to the above and you have any experience of working on cranes, traction lifts or similar things like material handling equipment or access plant lifting equipment such as: alloy gantries, forklifts, hiabs or versa lifts, skates, air skates, cranes, toe jacks, roller bars, ultralift, telehandlers then you should definitely apply!
