How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are seeking a Process Electrical Estimator to support project delivery and business growth through the preparation of accurate, detailed, and competitive cost estimates. Operating within process-driven environments such as manufacturing plants and utilities, you will play a pivotal role in assessing project requirements, identifying risks, and developing commercially sound tenders for electrical installation works.

This position is critical to ensuring projects are priced effectively and delivered successfully, combining strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness to drive profitability, maintain high standards, and support the organisation’s continued success in complex industrial settings.

    Key Responsibilities

Analyse and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and tender documentation relevant to process industry projects

Develop detailed cost estimates covering power distribution, control systems, instrumentation, and cabling installations

Liaise with suppliers and specialist subcontractors to obtain accurate and competitive pricing for materials and industrial equipment

Compile and submit comprehensive tender packages in line with client specifications and project requirements

Work closely with project engineers, designers, and project managers to define scope and resolve technical queries

Identify value engineering opportunities while assessing and highlighting potential risks and commercial considerations

Support the transition from tender stage to project delivery, ensuring clear understanding of scope and costs

Stay informed on market rates, emerging technologies, and best practices within the process and industrial sectors

Contribute to the ongoing improvement of estimating tools, systems, and cost databases

    Skills and Experience

Proven experience in estimating within the process, manufacturing, or wider industrial sectors

Solid understanding of electrical installations in process environments, including MCCs, control panels, hazardous area systems, and containment solutions

Good working knowledge of relevant electrical standards and regulations such as BS7671 and ATEX

Experience using estimating software packages (e.g. Trimble/Amtech, ConQuest, or similar tools)

Ability to interpret and work from complex technical drawings, specifications, and documentation

Strong commercial awareness, with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills

    What We Offer

A competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package that reflects the importance of this role

A company that genuinely prioritises employee wellbeing, creating a supportive and inclusive working environment

Clear opportunities for career progression and professional development within a successful and growing business with exciting future plans
