How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Producing detailed quotations for precision machined components.
    • Reviewing engineering drawings and customer RFQs.
    • Calculating machining times, material costs and subcontract processes.
    • Assessing machine capacity, lead times and manufacturing capability.
    • Liaising with customers and internal departments regarding quotations and technical queries.
    • Supporting continuous improvement within the estimating process.

    What’s Needed to be Considered:
    • Previous experience as an Estimator within CNC / Precision Engineering OR a CNC Machinist looking to transition into an office-based role.
    • Strong understanding of machining processes within a subcontract machine shop environment.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
    • Knowledge of materials, machining methods and manufacturing lead times.
    • Experience working within Aerospace, Defence or similar high-precision industries would be advantageous.
    • Strong communication and organisational skills.

    What’s on Offer:
    • Opportunity to join a growing and well-respected precision engineering business.
    • Exposure to high-profile Aerospace projects.
    • Supportive and collaborative working environment.
    • Competitive salary depending on experience £40k-£50k

If this position is of interest, please apply with an up-to-date CV and one of our consultants will be in touch to discuss the opportunity further.

Due to the high volume of applications, if you do not hear back within 14 days, please assume your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion
