How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Civil Engineer / Infrastructure Engineer - Transport & Flood Risk
    Are you a technically capable Civil Engineer looking for a varied role across infrastructure, transport, and flood risk projects? My client is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join their growing team, supporting the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions from concept design through to detailed design.

    The Opportunity
    As a Civil Engineer, you will be supporting multiple teams across infrastructure, transport, and flood risk disciplines. You will be producing detailed technical drawings, undertaking analysis work, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects from feasibility stage through to construction-ready designs.
     
    The successful Civil Engineer will play a key role in supporting project delivery while working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
     
    What You Will Be Doing
    You will be:
    ·Producing technical CAD drawings for infrastructure and transport schemes
    ·Developing concept designs through to detailed design packages
    ·Undertaking site levels, plot levels, and cut and fill analysis
    ·Producing ground models, levels, and earthworks analysis
    ·Supporting infrastructure, transport, and Flood Risk teams with technical drawing production across disciplines
    ·Preparing and contributing to Section 38, Section 278, and Section 104 applications and approval processes
    ·Carrying out site visits and inspections as required
    ·Working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and accurately
     
    Skills & Experience Required
    To be considered for this Civil Engineer position, you should have:
    ·Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroDrainage
    ·Working knowledge of Civil 3D and/or Site3D or PDS software
    ·Experience producing ground models, levels, and earthworks analysis
    ·Experience in site levels, plot levels, and cut and fill analysis
    ·Ability to produce technical CAD drawings for infrastructure schemes
    ·Experience delivering concept designs through to detailed design for transport schemes
    ·Familiarity with Section 38, Section 278, and Section 104 applications and approval procedures
    ·Strong attention to detail and technical capability
    ·Ability to undertake site visits and inspections
    ·A full UK driving licence
