How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Ocean Export Operator

    Location: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:30

    Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE

    Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00 - 17:30

    A well-established global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Operator to join their busy and growing international logistics team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong ocean freight knowledge who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and commercially focused environment.

    The Role

    As an Ocean Export Operator, you will be responsible for managing the full export process from booking through to final delivery. You will work closely with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, and internal departments to ensure smooth and efficient movement of cargo.

    You will play a key role in delivering a high level of service while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and strong communication throughout the shipment lifecycle.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing end-to-end ocean export shipments
    Booking cargo with shipping lines and negotiating rates where required
    Preparing and processing export documentation
    Liaising with overseas agents to ensure smooth shipment execution
    Providing proactive updates to customers throughout the shipment process
    Handling customer queries and resolving operational issues efficiently
    Ensuring compliance with customs and export regulations
    Working closely with internal teams including customs, sales, and financeRequirements

    Previous experience in ocean export operations within freight forwarding is essential
    Strong understanding of export processes, documentation, and shipping line procedures
    Experience using freight forwarding systems (e.g. Cargowise or similar) desirable
    Good communication and customer service skills
    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
    Strong attention to detail and organisational skillsPackage

    Salary up to £38,000 depending on experience
    Monday to Friday working hours (09:00-17:30)
