How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A senior leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chief Operating Officer to join a well-established organisation operating across multiple frontline service areas.

    This is a key executive role, responsible for leading and developing operational delivery across accommodation-based services, community support programmes, and organisational infrastructure.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse portfolio of services, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and sustainable delivery.

    Key areas of responsibility include:
    • Strategic and operational leadership across multiple service areas
    • Oversight of accommodation and supported housing services
    • Leadership of crisis, drop-in, and community-based support provision
    • Safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance frameworks
    • HR, governance, compliance, and organisational infrastructure
    • Operational systems development and service improvement
    • Partnership and stakeholder engagement across sectors
    • Financial oversight and contribution to organisational sustainability

    We are seeking an experienced senior leader with:
    • Significant leadership experience within housing, health, social care, or voluntary sector services
    • Strong operational management experience across complex environments
    • Proven ability to lead multi-service teams and deliver strategic objectives
    • Strong understanding of safeguarding, compliance, and risk management
    • Experience managing budgets and performance frameworks
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

    Desirable:
    • Experience within housing or supported accommodation services
    • Knowledge of housing legislation and supported housing models
    • Experience of systems improvement or organisational transformation
