How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Project Manager role:

    Part of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager is a key and exciting role at Migrant Help. It will play a central role in delivering PMO projects that are complex, cross-functional, and strategically significant. Project Managers lead project teams through the full lifecycle, ensuring alignment with PMO methodologies, organisational priorities, and stakeholder expectations. The role is responsible for planning, execution, governance, and continuous improvement, and contributes to the development of PMO tools, processes, and resource strategies. As a management delivery role, the Project Manager also supports the development of junior PMO staff and acts as a key interface between the PMO, its customers and its suppliers.

    Key responsibilities of our Project Manager:

    Planning: Build project schedules integrating customer requirements with existing organisational and team priorities

    Leadership: Lead approved change initiatives and projects, using PMO standardised tools (RAID logs, project schedules, risk registers, status reporting)

    Resource management: Manage project resources efficiently and effectively, including team members, external suppliers and budget tracking

    Risk management: Proactively identify, document and mitigate project risks and issues using structured methods and tools

    Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC): Deliver QA and QC so projects deliver expected quality on time, within scope, and within budget

    Strategy delivery: Contribute analysis PMO tools and processes to develop the PMO to achieve its strategic goals. Identify gaps and support improvements

    Relationship management: Maintain positive working relationships with business stakeholders

    Advocacy and communication: Improve organisational understanding of structured project management techniques and the PMO as a function

    The experience you need to become our Project Manager:

    Proven experience in planning and managing complicated projects, preferably in a medium to large sized organisation, working across multiple teams

    Understanding of project governance structures and ways of working including QC and QA, risk management, project performance, documentation and resource management

    Knowledge and expertise in working with or managing technology solutions within medium to large organisations

We will use this to build a shortlist of candidates who will be invited for a first, 60 minute competency based interview stage. Those successful passing this stage will be invited to a final, 45 minute interview, which will contain a presentational component, requiring preparation.
