The Role of the CNC Machinist
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Leicester. The successful CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to manufacture precision-engineered metal components to high quality standards. You will be working within a fast-paced engineering environment, producing precision components while ensuring all products meet strict quality and specification requirements.

Key Requirements for the CNC Machinist
Demonstrated experience in CNC machining and/or a strong academic background in engineering, ideally supported by a recognised machining apprenticeship
Previous experience working with metal components
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Proficient in conducting self-inspection of machined components using manual measurement tools
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience setting and operating CNC machinery
Knowledge of precision machining techniques
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Understanding of engineering tolerances and specifications
Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Desirable Experience
Additional Grinding Machinery experience
Additional EDM (Electrical Discharge Machinery) experience
Experience with multi-axis CNC machines would be advantageous
Knowledge of continuous improvement processes
