How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Learning Support Assistant
    Birmingham (accessible via public transport, with a short walk for non-drivers)
    £110-£115 per day
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)

    Long Term Futures is recruiting for a committed and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Birmingham, supporting students with SEND. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

    The role will focus on supporting secondary-aged pupils, many of whom have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, and SEMH, often requiring tailored support and consistent guidance throughout the school day.

    About the Role
    Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCo, and pastoral teams, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
    * Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with SEND
    * Supporting pupils within lessons and in alternative learning environments
    * Assisting with the delivery of structured and engaging lessons
    * Implementing strategies to support behaviour, engagement, and learning
    * Supporting students with emotional regulation and transitions between lessons
    * Monitoring progress and behaviour, providing feedback to staff where appropriate
    * Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive social interactions
    * Working collaboratively with staff to support individual learning plans

    * Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEND
    * Strong behaviour management and communication skills
    * Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
    * Able to build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
