As a key member of the team, you will ensure colleagues are appropriately fitted with FFP3 respirators, enabling them to work safely and confidently in clinical and high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver FFP3 mask fit testing services across Oxford Health sites in line with HSE INDG 479 guidance
* Conduct fit testing using both:
* Quantitative (Portacount) method
* Qualitative (hood) method
* Assess and confirm that specific mask models and sizes provide an effective seal for individual wearers
* Support staff in understanding correct mask usage and fit requirements
* Maintain accurate records of fit testing outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
* Contribute to a safe and effective service that prioritises staff wellbeing and protection
Fit Tester - Main duties of the job
* Conducting fit testing in accordance with HSE Guidance INDG 479 to ensure that a specific model and size of tight-fitting facepiece matches the wearer’s facial features and seals adequately to the wearer’s face, using the qualitative or quantitative fit testing method.
* Maintaining accurate records of the fit tests undertaken.
* Advise the staff member of the outcome of the test,
During times when fit testing is not required, you will be required to assist the Head of Health and Safety with implementation of the annual health and safety plan and also provide administration support to the Trust in the delivery of successful health and safety management (HSG 65) in line with the requirements of the Assurance Framework.

Essential criteria
* Fit2Fit-accredited tester certification or equivalent for Qualitative and Quantitative testing.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Occupational Health and Safety Level 3.
* Fit2Fit-accredited tester certification or equivalent for Qualitative and Quantitative testing.
* Knowledge of FFP3 respiratory equipment used in healthcare settings.
* Interpret and record fit test results in line with HSE guidance. Able to prioritise work. Able to work to assume role of authority and responsibility.
* To have carried out face fit testing sessions within previous roles
* Experience of using Microsoft Office and Excel software.
Desirable criteria
* Some pre-existing knowledge of respiratory protective equipment
