How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Shift Supervisor

    Altera Recruitment Group is in search for a Shift Supervisor to oversee operational performance of their clients Anaerobic Digestion facility. Operating on a 4 on, 4 off days only shift rotation (12 hour shifts), the Shift Supervisor will be responsible for leading site operations during shift, supervising a team, ensuring performance standards are achieved, and supporting the safe and efficient running of plant activities.

    The Shift Supervisor opportunity is well suited to a confident and resilient people leader with experience in industrial, process, or plant based environments who can motivate teams and maintain high operational standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Lead, supervise, and support operational teams during shift, promoting productivity, accountability, and strong performance standards.

    * Oversee the day to day running of plant operations, ensuring activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with operational objectives.

    * Operate and supervise the use of mobile plant equipment while maintaining safe working practices across site.

    * Monitor and engage with SCADA and control systems to support operational decision making and plant performance.

    * Carry out first line maintenance activities and proactively address operational or team performance issues, escalating where appropriate.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Previous experience in a supervisory, shift leadership, or team management role within an industrial, engineering, process, waste, energy, or manufacturing environment.

    * Strong leadership presence with the confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations and drive team engagement.

    * Practical experience operating or overseeing mobile plant machinery within an operational setting.

    * Exposure to SCADA systems and site control processes, with confidence working in a plant based environment.

    * Strong communication, organisational, and people management skills, combined with a proactive and hands on approach.
