How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Crane Service Engineer (Crawler Cranes)

Are you a Plant, Vehicle, HGV, or Agricultural Technician looking for a new challenge?

We’re seeking a motivated individual to transfer their existing skills and become a Crane Service Engineer.

We’ve successfully helped technicians from similar backgrounds progress into highly skilled crane engineering roles, making this an excellent opportunity for career development.

    What the role involves:

    * Working alongside our experienced team to carry out planned maintenance, repairs, and rigging on our extensive fleet of hydraulic crawler cranes.

    * Hands-on work both in our workshop and at various locations across the UK and Ireland.

    What we’re looking for:

    * A proactive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn.

    * Willingness to work outdoors and travel as required by the business.

    Key Responsibilities:

    * Receive comprehensive on-the-job training to achieve NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Plant Maintenance. Additional accredited training will include CPCS Appointed Person, CPCS Lift Supervisor, CPCS Slinger Signaller, CPCS Crawler Crane Operator, IPAF, CETOP Hydraulics, LEEA courses, and manufacturer-specific training.

    * Work on a modern fleet of crawler cranes, gaining hands-on experience in rigging, servicing, and repairs.

    * Perform preventative maintenance and servicing to ensure optimal crane performance.

    * Maintain accurate daily records using PDA systems for inspections, servicing, and repairs.

    * Assist with and learn fault diagnosis techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently.

    * Adhere to high standards of health and safety at all times.

    * Be flexible to work away from home and outside normal hours, including weekends when required, to assist with breakdowns—flexibility is essential.

    * Carry out servicing and maintenance on other mechanical plant equipment in the workshop and yard as needed.

    * Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to meet operational requirements.

    * Undertake additional duties as reasonably requested by management.

    Skills

    * Technically minded, with the ability to learn and perform fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in crawler cranes.

    * Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

    * Eager to learn new skills, demonstrating attention to detail and ensuring all inspections are completed to the highest standards.

    * Full UK driving licence required.

If you’re ready to take your career to the next level, we’d love to hear from you!
