How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Part-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 12:30 (20 hours per week, term-time only)

    Location: Blackpool, Lancashire (Alternative Provision)

    Start Date: 1st June 2026

    Salary/Rate: £14.89 - £16.89 per hour (Dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant (TA) or Support Worker looking for a rewarding part-time morning role in Blackpool?

We are recruiting a dedicated Part-Time Teaching Assistant to provide vital 1:1 support for a pupil within an Alternative Provision (AP) setting. Starting on 1st June 2026, this role is perfect for a resilient, empathetic professional who excels at engaging young people who face barriers to mainstream education.

If you have a background in SEN (Special Educational Needs), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), or youth work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible difference.

Key Responsibilities as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

Deliver tailored 1:1 support to a pupil within an alternative educational environment.

Implement personalised learning plans, adapting tasks to suit the pupil's specific emotional and academic needs.

Utilise positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a safe, focussed learning space.

Foster confidence, emotional regulation, and social skills.

Collaborate closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and external support teams to monitor and review progress.

What We Are Looking For (Job Requirements):

Experience: Proven track record working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural challenges (e.g., in a PRU, Alternative Provision, or specialist setting).

Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable. Training in Team Teach, MAPA, or similar de-escalation techniques is a major advantage.

Skills: Exceptional patience, strong communication skills, and a non-judgemental, empathetic approach.

Reliability: Consistency is crucial for this pupil; we need someone committed to the daily 08:30 - 12:30 routine.

    Why Apply For This Role?

Work-Life Balance: Consistent, part-time morning hours (Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 12:30), leaving your afternoons free.

Local Impact: Conveniently located in Blackpool with excellent local transport links.

Competitive Pay: Weekly pay at competitive rates.

Supportive Environment: Work alongside a passionate, multidisciplinary team dedicated to alternative education.
