How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Engineer – Residential Development

Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 depending on level of experience
    Location: Northampton

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Engineer to join a leading residential developer with a strong pipeline of projects across the South East.
This is a key technical role within a well-established Design & Technical team, where you’ll take ownership of infrastructure coordination across multiple residential developments. The business is known for delivering high-quality housing schemes, with a strong focus on innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a more autonomous role with real influence over design coordination, approvals, and project delivery.
My client is open to level of experience, whether you are more senior or more junior.

Your Next Job – What You’ll Be Doing
What You’ll Be Doing As Technical Engineer, you’ll sit at the heart of residential project delivery, supporting schemes from early design through to construction and adoption.
    Your responsibilities will include:
Technical Coordination: Manage and coordinate engineering information across highways, drainage, utilities, and external works packages.
Design Management: Oversee external consultants producing infrastructure designs, ensuring outputs are practical, compliant, and cost-effective.
Approvals & Agreements: Support the progression of Section 38, Section 104 and Section 278 agreements, ensuring timely approvals and delivery alignment.
Programme Support: Track technical deliverables and help ensure infrastructure packages are delivered in line with build programmes.
Design Review: Review engineering proposals, providing input on buildability, value engineering, and technical compliance.
Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with local authorities, statutory bodies, utility companies, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and progress schemes.

Your Next Employer – Where You’ll Be Doing It
This is a well-respected residential developer with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, design-led housing across the South East.
They have a diverse pipeline of projects ranging from small bespoke developments through to large multi-phase residential schemes. Their approach combines technical precision with innovation, sustainability, and a strong focus on long-term quality.
The technical team is central to the business, working closely with land, planning, commercial, and construction teams to ensure schemes are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
For an experienced Technical Engineer, this is a chance to take real ownership of infrastructure delivery within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Requirements & Rewards – What You Give & What You Get Back
To be successful in this role, you should have:

HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
