How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Bid Writer – Construction Sector (Head Office: Staines-upon-Thames)

We are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join a well-established, internationally active construction contractor at their UK head office in Staines-upon-Thames.

This organisation has a long-standing reputation for delivering complex building and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland. With decades of industry experience, they are known for their commitment to quality, engineering excellence, and collaborative delivery across sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and transport. Their success is built on a strong culture of professionalism, technical expertise, and long-term client relationships.

    The Role

As Bid Writer, you will play a key role in producing high-quality, compelling bid submissions that support the company’s continued growth. Working closely with bid managers, estimators, and technical teams, you will translate complex project information into clear, persuasive, and client-focused written content.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop, write, and edit tailored bid and tender responses

    * Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to gather project information

    * Ensure submissions are compelling, accurate, and aligned with client requirements

    * Maintain a high standard of written quality, consistency, and branding

    * Support continuous improvement of bid library content and best practice responses

    * Manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    About You

    * Proven experience in bid writing within construction, engineering, or a related sector

    * Strong ability to interpret technical information and turn it into persuasive written content

    * Excellent written English and attention to detail

    * Confident communicator who works well with multidisciplinary teams

    * Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure

    What’s on Offer

    * Opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong pipeline of UK and international projects

    * Collaborative and supportive working environment

    * Exposure to high-value, technically complex bids

    * Competitive salary and benefits package

If you are a skilled bid writer looking to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking and well-established construction business, we would like to hear from you
