How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    1:1 Teaching Assistant

    Location: Northampton
    Start Date: Immediate

    Provide Individual Support Within a Welcoming School Environment

    A caring and inclusive primary school in Northampton is looking to appoint a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil requiring additional assistance in the classroom. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, supportive, and passionate about helping children succeed in their education.

    The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to provide tailored support throughout the school day, helping the pupil remain engaged, confident, and supported within their learning environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil during lessons and school activities
    Assist with learning tasks and adapt activities where required
    Encourage positive behaviour and support emotional wellbeing
    Help the pupil stay focused, engaged, and included within the classroom
    Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
    Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where necessary
    Support the development of independence, confidence, and social skills

    Ideal Candidate

    Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable
    Calm, caring, and patient approach to supporting pupils
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    Able to follow guidance and adapt to the needs of the pupil
    Positive attitude and willingness to support across the school day
    Understanding of SEND or additional learning needs is beneficial
    Passionate about making a positive difference in education
