How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Fixed Head Turner Programmer
    Precision Engineering | Harlow | Day Shift & Night Shift | Competitive Salary + Shift Allowance
    Company Overview

    Our client is a well-established precision engineering company specialising in the machining of commercial-grade and exotic materials for a range of high-specification industries including aerospace, automotive, marine, and brewery sectors. From initial consultation and design through to the finished product, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality precision components to customers across multiple industries.

    The Role
    Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Fixed Head Turner Programmer to join their expanding machining team in Harlow. This position would suit a skilled engineer with strong programming experience using Mazak Smooth controls and a background in precision machining.
    Both day and night shift positions are available.

    Key Responsibilities
    Programming, setting and operating CNC Fixed Head Turning machines
    Working with Mazak Smooth controls
    Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances
    Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
    Selecting appropriate tooling and offsets
    Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment
    Ensuring consistent quality standards are maintained
    Working independently and as part of a skilled engineering team
    Supporting continuous improvement within the machining department

    Requirements
    Previous experience programming CNC Fixed Head Lathes
    Strong knowledge of Mazak Smooth controls
    Ability to work from engineering drawings
    Experience machining a variety of materials including exotic alloys
    Good understanding of tolerances and quality procedures
    Ability to self-inspect components
    Aerospace or high-precision engineering experience would be advantageous
