Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Mentor to join a welcoming Secondary School in Bury. This is a full-time position starting ASAP and offers a daily rate of £100 - £115 depending on experience.
This rewarding role involves supporting students who require additional behavioural and emotional support in school. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN professionals to help pupils remain engaged in learning, build positive relationships and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.
The school is looking for someone who is calm, confident and passionate about supporting young people who may display challenging behaviour. You will play a key role in helping students develop coping strategies, improve attendance, and maintain positive behaviour throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group behaviour support
Building strong, positive relationships with pupils
Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom
Assisting with behaviour management strategies
Promoting engagement, emotional wellbeing and inclusion
Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staffTo be considered for this role, applicants must have previous experience working within schools or educational settings. Unfortunately, candidates without school-based or education experience will not be considered.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting young people in a secondary school or educational environment
Strong behaviour management skills
A patient, empathetic and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
