How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Welder Fabricator £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience Permanent | Full Time | 4 Day Working Week

    About the Opportunity

    You’ll be involved in the fabrication and refurbishment of machinery and associated structural steelwork used within the waste recycling and commodities industry.

    The work is varied, hands-on and technically interesting, giving you the opportunity to work across bespoke projects rather than repetitive batch manufacturing. You’ll collaborate closely with the engineering team and occasionally attend customer sites, giving you wider exposure to projects from build stage through to completion.

    This role would suit someone who enjoys seeing tangible results from their work and wants to be part of a company where engineering standards and teamwork genuinely matter.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    TIG and MIG welding.
    Fabricating with stainless and mild steel.
    Supporting machinery refurbishment projects.
    Assisting with structural steel fabrication.
    Providing practical technical input during build stages.
    Carrying out lifting and slinging operations safely.
    Operating a forklift within the workshop environment.
    Maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
    Supporting occasional customer site visits with the engineering team.
    Assisting with wider workshop activities where required.

    What They’re Looking For:

    At least 2 years’ experience in a fabrication or welding role.
    TIG and MIG welding experience.
    Experience working with stainless and mild steel.
    High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
    Reliable and professional approach.
    Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
    Good understanding of workshop health and safety practices.
