How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Surveying Manager

    Region: National / UK wide

    Sector: Roofing

    Salary: Circa £60,000 - £70,000 + bonuses (up to 10% of salary) + car + benefits

    Our client is a leading specialist within the roofing and tapered insulation sector, known for delivering high-quality technical solutions and exceptional customer service across the UK.

    Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Surveying Manager to lead and develop their UK surveying function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong roofing professional to take ownership of a growing surveying team while helping shape future surveying processes, standards, and customer experience.

    The Role:

    As Surveying Manager, you will oversee a team of four Surveyors, ensuring the successful delivery of surveying services across the UK. You will play a key role in maintaining technical excellence, driving operational efficiency, supporting customer relationships, and developing best-in-class surveying standards.

    The position will involve regular travel across the UK, with flexibility to support projects nationally when required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Surveyors across the UK
    Ensure surveys are completed accurately, safely, and within agreed service levels
    Support surveyors with technical guidance, development, and performance management
    Oversee site surveys including:
    Roof measurements
    Drainage assessments
    Existing falls analysis
    Tapered roofing set-out support
    Act as a senior technical point of contact for customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
    Work closely with design, sales, and technical teams to ensure smooth project delivery
    Support customer issue resolution and provide onsite technical investigations where required
    Monitor surveying KPIs, reporting, and service performance
    Drive continuous improvement across surveying processes, technology, and standards
    Assist with technical and practical training for internal teams and external partners
    Maintain the highest standards of health & safety and compliance when working at heightAbout You:

    The successful candidate will have strong technical knowledge within the flat roofing or waterproofing industry alongside proven leadership experience.

    You will ideally have:

    Previous experience managing or mentoring surveying or technical teams
    Strong knowledge of flat roofing systems including:
    Built-up felt roofing
    Single-ply systems
    Liquid waterproofing
    Experience carrying out technical roof surveys and assessments
    Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
    A commercially aware and solutions-focused mindset
    The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and plans
    Strong organisational and reporting skills
    A proactive, adaptable, and hands-on approach
    Requirements
    Experience within roofing, waterproofing, or a related construction discipline
    CSCS Card holder
    Comfortable working at height
    Full UK driving licence
    NVQ Level 2 Skilled Worker qualification desirable
    DBS check may be requiredPackage:
