How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A highly regarded development and construction consultancy based in Central London is seeking a commercially focused Monitoring Surveyor to join its specialist advisory team. This is a unique opportunity for a Monitoring Surveyor to work on high-value residential, mixed-use, and regeneration schemes across London, acting on behalf of banks, lenders, and private investors. The Monitoring Surveyor will play a critical role in safeguarding project performance, reviewing risk exposure, and ensuring developments remain financially and operationally on track. This Monitoring Surveyor role offers far more than standard reporting - the Monitoring Surveyor will become a trusted advisor across complex developments, working closely with funding institutions and developer teams. The Monitoring Surveyor will join a consultancy recognised for its sharp commercial insight, technical expertise, and modern approach to project oversight. For a Monitoring Surveyor looking to move into a more strategic and influential position, this opportunity offers genuine career progression.

    The Monitoring Surveyor's role

The Monitoring Surveyor will manage fund monitoring instructions across a range of development projects from pre-construction through to practical completion. The Monitoring Surveyor will assess procurement strategies, project programmes, development appraisals, and construction risks while producing detailed monitoring reports for lenders and stakeholders. As a Monitoring Surveyor, you will undertake regular site visits, review drawdown requests, and advise clients on cost, programme, and risk management matters. The Monitoring Surveyor will work closely with developers, contractors, and professional teams to ensure projects remain aligned with funding expectations and commercial objectives.

    The Monitoring Surveyor

The ideal Monitoring Surveyor will have 4+ years' experience within quantity surveying, development consultancy, or project monitoring. A Monitoring Surveyor should possess strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of development finance, procurement, and construction delivery. Experience producing monitoring reports or advising lenders would be advantageous for this Monitoring Surveyor role. A degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline is preferred, with MRICS or APC progression viewed positively. The Monitoring Surveyor will be analytical, confident communicating with stakeholders, and comfortable operating in a client-facing environment.

    In Return?

    £50,000 - £60,000 salary (depending on experience)
Central London-based role with exposure to major residential & mixed-use developments
    Strong lender and client-facing responsibilities
Clear progression within a growing specialist consultancy
Collaborative and commercially driven team environment

If you are a Quantity Surveyor considering your career opportunities, then please contact Dan McEvoy at Brandon James.
