How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Workshop Recruitment is supporting a well-established manufacturing business in the search for two Maintenance Engineers to join their engineering team. These are permanent opportunities offering either a Night Shift pattern or a Double Days rotation, both with attractive shift premiums.
    The successful Maintenance Engineer will support production through planned and reactive maintenance, equipment improvement projects, and technical support across the site. This role would suit an experienced engineer with a proactive mindset and a passion for improving machine performance and reliability.
    Shift Patterns
    Night Shift
    * 38% shift premium
    * Sunday: 10:30pm – 6:00am
    * Monday–Thursday: 10:00pm – 6:00am
    * 30-minute unpaid break
    Double Days Rotation
    * 24% shift premium
    * Week 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm Mon–Thurs, 6:00am – 1:30pm Friday
    * Week 2: 2:00pm – 10:00pm Mon–Thurs, 1:30pm – 9:00pm Friday
    * 30-minute unpaid break
    Responsibilities
    * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment
    * Diagnose faults across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
    * Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability projects
    * Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records
    * Support and mentor maintenance technicians when required
    * Work closely with production and engineering teams
    * Monitor equipment performance and identify improvements
    * Ensure health and safety standards are maintained
    Skills & Experience
    * Time-served or HNC-qualified in Electro-Mechanical Engineering
    * Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer in manufacturing
    * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    * Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, pneumatics, and automated equipment
    * Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics
    * Experience with CMMS systems desirable
