How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Key Stage Teacher Supply are seeking a patient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream school in Skelmersdale, working with 2 pupils who require additional support to access learning, within a Year 6 class. 

    This is a long-term position, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom environment. The role will involve working on a 1:2 basis, supporting pupils with ASD and Autism in Upper KS2. 

    The school has a strong focus on inclusive practice and pupil support, with a collaborative staff team and clear support structures in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant looking to develop their experience in a mainstream setting. 

    The timings for the role are as follows: - 
    Monday, Wednesday & Friday - PM's 12pm-3.15pm
    Tuesday, Thursday - Full Days 8.30am-3.15pm

    SEND Teaching Assistant role requirements: 

    Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEND TA
    • Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a mainstream school setting
    • Understanding of needs such as ASD or ADHD
    • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with pupils 
    • Strong communication and behaviour management skills 
    • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach 
    • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing 
    • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply  
    The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will: 

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional needs
    • Adapt learning activities to support different learning styles
    • Support the class teacher in delivering inclusive lessons 
    • Help manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies 
    • Encourage engagement, independence and confidence 
    • Work closely with the SENCO, teacher and wider support staff
