How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Project Surveyor - Hertfordshire | London Projects | Social Housing Planned Refurbishment | Hybrid Working
Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a market-leading contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work, genuine career progression, and an exceptional reputation within the industry?

Our client, a leading main contractor based in Hertfordshire, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team. Operating across London projects, this business is cash rich, has excellent staff retention, a full order book, and continues to secure major planned refurbishment frameworks across the social housing sector.

Recognised as a market leader within their field, our client delivers a range of planned refurbishment programmes including internal and external works, alongside major SHDF decarbonisation and fire remediation projects.

Offering hybrid working and a genuine focus on work-life balance, this business combines the security and structure of an established contractor with a modern and flexible approach to working.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering social housing planned refurbishment projects and will ideally have previous experience working on similar occupied refurbishment programmes, with an understanding of the unique challenges associated with working in live resident environments.

Working alongside an experienced commercial team, this position offers long-term stability and the opportunity to be part of an ambitious and growing business with genuine opportunities for progression.

    Key requirements:
    • Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment
    • Experience delivering social housing planned refurbishment projects
    • Exposure to occupied refurbishment programmes would be highly advantageous
    • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project lifecycle management
    • Ability to manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, cost reporting and final accounts
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    In return our client offers:
    • Generous salary package
    • Car allowance
    • Annual bonus
    • Hybrid working
    • Three months paid maternity leave
    • Excellent benefits package
    • Long-term stability with a strong secured workload
    • Genuine career progression opportunities
    • Supportive and collaborative culture with excellent staff retention

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor seeking to join a growing contractor where you can play a key role in delivering high-profile projects while benefiting from flexibility, stability, and long-term career development
