How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    LOCATION: HMP Parc, Bridgend, Wales
    HOURS: 18.5 hours per week
    PAY RATE: £28.63 limited per hour (Umbrella pay rate) or £20.30 per hour PAYE rate

    Full Job Description
    We are seeking a dedicated Probation Officer to join the team at HMP Parc for a 12-month assignment. This is a fantastic contract opportunity to contribute to the criminal justice system while working within a secure prison environment. If you're passionate about making a difference and meet the required skills, we want to hear from you.

    Depending on the role, work may include:

    Conduct OASys assessments to support offender rehabilitation plans
    Perform general Probation Officer duties within a high-security prison setting
    Manage casework, ensuring compliance with all statutory and institutional policies
    Work closely with prison staff and external agencies to facilitate successful offender management
    Maintain thorough documentation and provide detailed reports for ongoing case reviews
    Support offender rehabilitation and risk management initiatives
    The job holder is expected to accept reasonable alterations and additional tasks of a similar level that may be necessary.Essential Requirements

    Proven experience as a Probation Officer or in a similar role within the last 5 years.
    Comprehensive knowledge and experience of OASys assessment procedures and risk management tools.
    Ability to work effectively within a secure prison environment.
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain thorough documentation and write detailed reports.
