How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    MEICA Project Engineer

We are seeking experienced MEICA Project Engineers to support the successful delivery of AMP8 projects across the North West. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle — from outline design through to commissioning and handover — within a collaborative and forward-thinking delivery environment.

The position will involve a combination of office, remote and site-based working, supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality water infrastructure projects.

    The Role

As a MEICA Project Engineer, you will work closely with designers, subcontractors, commissioning teams and operational stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in managing MEICA packages throughout design, procurement, manufacture, installation and commissioning phases.

You will contribute to programme and budget development, support construction sequencing, monitor delivery performance and help drive a right-first-time culture across the framework.

    Key Responsibilities

Promote health, safety and wellbeing throughout all stages of project design and delivery
Manage MEICA packages including design coordination, installation and commissioning activities
Support HAZOP, HAZCON and other project review meetings
Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to develop practical construction sequences, programmes and budgets
Coordinate with pre-construction and delivery teams to develop safe, compliant and efficient engineering solutions
Drive high-quality delivery standards and continuous improvement initiatives
Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational teams, supply chain partners and stakeholders
Produce accurate project performance reports and implement mitigation strategies where required
Ensure permits, inspections, records and quality checks are completed in line with contractual requirements
Support collaborative working across the wider framework and supply chain teams

    Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering MEICA packages across the full project lifecycle
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Good understanding of Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and safe systems of work
Knowledge of temporary works, lifting operations, commissioning and handover processes
Ability to interpret engineering technical standards and specifications
Experience managing subcontractors and package delivery
Solution-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
Flexible and adaptable approach to project delivery challenges
Strong commitment to quality and exceeding expectations

    Desirable Experience

    Water industry experience
Experience working within multidisciplinary delivery teams
Exposure to both design and construction environments
    Commitment to continued professional development

    Qualifications

    Essential

Relevant Engineering or Project Management qualification
    CSCS Card
    Full UK Driving Licence

    Desirable

Professional membership or working towards chartership
Relevant MEICA or water industry certifications

Opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects
    Collaborative and supportive working environment
    Long-term career development opportunities
