About the Role:
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and skilled BSL (British Sign Language) 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Peterborough area.
This rewarding role involves working closely with a Year 5 pupil who is Deaf, supporting them to access learning and fully engage in school life. You will play a key part in ensuring the pupil can communicate effectively and achieve their full potential within a mainstream classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil who is Deaf, using British Sign Language to support communication
Work collaboratively with class teachers and staff to promote inclusion and access to learning
Support the pupil's academic progress, as well as their social and emotional development
Assist in creating a positive, engaging, and structured classroom environment
Encourage independence, confidence, and active participation in school activities
Requirements:
Previous experience working with primary-aged children with SEND
Strong proficiency in British Sign Language (BSL)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting children with additional needs
