How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Purpose
    As a Project Specialist, you will be a Procurement focal for all delivery and quality aspects for a defined group of suppliers, production cells and customer programmes, responsible for coordinating and managing Procurement activities to achieve two key objectives; enable operational flow and achieve customer (programme) delivery milestones.
    Working cross-functionally will be a key success factor for this role, with support and attendance essential at production cell daily stand-ups and regular customer (programme) reviews. In addition, collaborating closely with Commodity buyers will be a fundamental element of the role, to ensure the Project Specialist is fully enabled and empowered to identify and mitigate delivery risk, and manage and resolve delivery issues, across ACS UK OEM and AFM (Spares) demands, in a thriving NPI production environment. A key aspect will therefore also be establishing effective supplier relationships and driving supplier performance, particularly in delivery and quality activities.
    Key Responsibilities
    - A Procurement focal for all delivery and quality aspects within a defined group of suppliers, production cells and customer programmes
    - Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Programmes, including support and attendance at production cell daily stand-ups and regular customer (programme) reviews
    - Identify and mitigate supply chain delivery risks, which otherwise might impact operational flow and / or attainment of customer (programme) delivery milestones
    - Lead, facilitate and co-ordinate resolution to wide-ranging and varied delivery issues (technical, design, quality, engineering and customer free-issue)
    - Undertake transactional activities for suppliers, such as order book management, to ensure clear and accurate supplier delivery due dates are represented in the MRP system
    - Build and manage supplier relationships, driving performance particularly on delivery and quality fronts
    - Support and contribute to supplier evaluations and audits, in collaboration with Commodity Buyers
    - Progress change requests (once raised by Commodity Buyers), through collaboration with Planning, Design and other key internal stakeholders
    - Manage supplier replenishment once an SNCR (Supplier Non-Conformance) task has been raised with suppliers (via Commodity Buyers)
    - Liaise with the Logistics function as necessary to support and coordinate delivery requirements
    - Input to (when required) strategic sourcing activity led by Commodity Buyers
    - Drive sustainable and ethical Procurement practices across the supply-chain
    - Contribute to identification of opportunities and functional projects, for continuous improvement within the supply chain
    - Support (when required) resolution of supplier invoice queries, led by Commodity Buyers
    - Support and input (as necessary) supplier delivery and quality performance for commercial bids for both OEM and AFM (Spares)

    Knowledge, Education, Skills and Experience
    Knowledge:
    - Strong working knowledge of Procurement principles
    - Knowledge of operating within the Engineering / Manufacturing sector, particularly in OEM, Aftermarket and NPI environments
    - Knowledge of end-to-end Supply Chain concepts (demand and supply planning)
    - Knowledge of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
    - Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI and Microsoft Project
    - Understanding of operating within MRP / ERP systems
    Education
    - Educated to degree level although experience and / or vocational qualifications are also valued
    - CIPS qualification / Advanced Practitioner or equivalent is encouraged
    - Ability to demonstrate continuous personal development

    Professional experience
    - Demonstrated experience in Procurement principles (>3 years)
    - Demonstrated experience (>3 years) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment – Aerospace or highly regulated industry is preferred
    - Sound understanding of end-to-end supply-chain planning and MRP / ERP systems
    - Experience in Global Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and risk management
    Key Relationships & Interaction

    Confident working with all key stakeholders and across functions, including Operations, Programmes, Design, Engineering, Quality, etc.
    External Relationships & Interactions:
    Confident working with external suppliers of all sizes and in all geographies
