How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Quality Engineer
    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum
    Shift Pattern: Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 07:00–13:00

    Overview 
    An established manufacturing business is seeking a Quality Engineer to strengthen its quality and production support function. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance, improving processes, and supporting both quality control and production planning activities across the shopfloor.
     
     Key Responsibilities 

    Maintain and develop compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems
    Lead and support feasibility reviews for new and existing products
    Manage and support PPAP processes and associated documentation
    Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
    Support production scheduling and planning activities to ensure smooth workflow
    Work closely with production teams to support quality control and inspection processes
    Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality and manufacturing performance
    Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality-related issues
    Support audits and maintain accurate quality records and documentation
    Requirements 

    Experience working within a manufacturing quality environment
    Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards
    Experience with PPAP, feasibility reviews, and quality documentation
    Understanding of production planning and scheduling processes
    Hands-on experience supporting shopfloor quality control activities
    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally
    Experience within precision manufacturing or engineering environments preferred
