How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Our Vacancy
Neighbourhood Manager - Make a difference where it matters most
Are you a people‑focused professional who takes pride in getting things done and improving neighbourhoods? Do you lead with kindness, act with integrity, and follow through on your promises to residents?
We’re looking for a Neighbourhood Manager to be the face of our organisation in the community—someone who builds trust, strengthens partnerships, and delivers services that are simple, safe and smart.
    About the role
As a Neighbourhood Manager, you will take ownership of a defined patch, acting as a single point of contact for residents and ensuring services are consistently high‑quality, responsive and resident‑focused.
You’ll play a key role in managing relationships with managing agents across mixed‑tenure schemes, ensuring services are delivered to agreed standards and that residents receive a seamless experience.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    * Acting as the main point of contact for residents in a mixed‑tenure neighbourhood
    * Managing tenancies and leasehold matters, including enforcement where required
    * Overseeing and performance managing managing agents, holding them accountable for service delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction
    * Building strong, constructive relationships with agents to drive service improvements and resolve issues quickly
    * Carrying out estate and property inspections, identifying issues and ensuring timely resolution
    * Creating and delivering costed Neighbourhood Plans to improve satisfaction, safety and performance
    * Responding to complaints, ASB and safeguarding concerns with empathy and professionalism
    * Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to create safe, inclusive and thriving communities
    * Championing resident engagement and ensuring services are accessible and value for money
    What we’re looking for
    * Someone who truly lives our values: Be kind. Do the right thing. Love new ideas. Celebrate diversity. Keep our promises. Pull together.
    * Experience in a customer‑facing housing role, ideally within social housing
    * Experience working with or managing managing agents or contractors in a housing context
    * Strong knowledge of tenancy and leasehold management, including enforcement and safeguarding
    * Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively
    * A resilient, solutions‑focused mindset with excellent communication skills
    * A commitment to continuous learning (Level 3 Housing qualification support provided if needed)
    Location requirement
This role is based at Dagenham Green (Newham patch). Due to the size of the area, you’ll need a full UK driving licence and access to a car.
    Why join us?
You’ll be part of a supportive, values‑led organisation where residents are at the heart of everything we do. We work collaboratively, continuously improve, and empower our colleagues to succeed.
    We offer:
    * Flexible and hybrid working
    * 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
    * Up to 10% pension contribution (matched 1:1)
    * Two paid volunteering days per year
    * Flexible benefits including healthcare and dental
    Recruitment process
We’re committed to a fair and inclusive process.
    Closing date: 29 May 2026
    * Interviews: 5 June, in person at Hugh Cubitt Centre, Islington
    * DBS: Basic check required
    * Participation in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota (North East region) is required
    * We do not offer visa sponsorship to work in the UK.
If you’re a proactive, values‑led housing professional who thrives on building relationships and delivering results for residents, we’d love to hear from you. Please apply now by submitting an anonymised CV and a short statement explaining why you’re the perfect fit for the Neighbourhood Manager role and answer the application question as part of your submission.
