About the Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary School English Teacher to join a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Ilford (IG4), East London. This is a permanent position starting in September 2026, with interviews taking place immediately for suitable candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their career within a collaborative and high-achieving English department.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
Inspire students to develop a love for English language and literature
Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom managementThe Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Essential
A degree in English or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum
A commitment to raising attainment and student engagement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsApplications are welcome from ECTs, with strong mentoring and induction support available.
