How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Maths Teacher

    A specialist school for pupils aged 9 to 19 with a wide range of abilities and additional needs, including complex autism, is seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Teacher of Maths. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject and committed to promoting the highest standards of attainment and achievement for young people with learning difficulties across Key Stages 2 to 5.

    Set within a spacious green site in the Royal Borough of Kingston, the school benefits from extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, vocational learning spaces, and a dedicated pupil support team providing a range of therapies. A newly opened vocational block further enhances opportunities for students to develop practical and life skills within a modern learning environment.

    With small class sizes and a highly supportive environment, staff are able to tailor learning to meet the individual academic, social, and emotional needs of each pupil.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver high-quality Maths teaching to ensure the best possible progress and outcomes for all learners.
    Teach students individually, in groups, and in class settings, adapting lessons to meet varying learning and social needs.
    Ensure planning, preparation, assessment, recording, and reporting are completed to a high standard.
    Maintain and promote the positive ethos and values of the school both inside and outside the classroom.
    Contribute positively to teamwork and collaboration with teaching and support staff, parents, and governors.

    Person Specification

    Qualified Teacher Status
    Experience teaching secondary-aged students.
    Experience delivering recognised Maths accreditations.
    Strong knowledge of changes to the National Curriculum.
    Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across the school community.
