How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    User Researcher – Hybrid Working (Public Sector, SC‑Eligible Only)


    This role sits within a specialist digital consultancy delivering evidence‑based, user‑centred services across the UK public sector. You will lead research that shapes services used by millions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure decisions are grounded in real user needs.


    Key Requirements: • Security Clearance eligibility (SC) is essential • Hybrid working, typically 2–3 days per week on client site • Experience conducting research within or alongside public‑sector organisations


    What You’ll Do: • Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research across discovery, alpha, beta and live • Recruit participants, run interviews, usability tests and contextual studies • Synthesise findings into clear insights that drive service and product decisions • Work closely with service designers, product managers and delivery teams • Ensure research aligns with GDS standards and supports evidence‑based decision‑making • Communicate findings to stakeholders at all levels


    What You’ll Bring: • Strong portfolio of user research in complex environments • Experience with a range of research methods and when to apply them • Ability to turn research into actionable recommendations • Confidence working with ambiguity and shaping early‑stage direction • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills • Full SC‑eligibility (UK residency for 5+ years, no restrictions)
