How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    ROLE OVERVIEW

    Job Title: Comedy Agent

    Type: Full-Time

    Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

    ABOUT THE COMEDY INFLUENCE

The Comedy Influence is a leading talent agency at the intersection of comedy, culture, and entertainment. Alongside our established acting representation and brand partnerships divisions, we are expanding to build the next generation of comedy talent across live, broadcast & writing opportunities. We are looking for a driven, connected, and passionate Comedy Agent to join our growing team.

    THE ROLE

As Comedy Agent, you will be responsible for growing and managing a roster of comedy talent, securing high-value live and development opportunities, and building the industry relationships that keep our talent at the forefront of the comedy landscape. This role sits within our talent division and works in close collaboration with our brand partnerships team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Mainstream Media & Television

    • Securing high-profile media opportunities for talent across comedy panel shows, primetime television, radio, and mainstream press, raising their public profile and broadening their appeal beyond core comedy audiences.

    2. Comedy Tour & Live Show Booking

    • Secure live performance opportunities across stand-up tours, comedy festivals, club residencies, and headline shows.
    • Manage routing, venue negotiations, and deal structures for all live engagements.
    • Build and maintain relationships with comedy festival programmers at Edinburgh Fringe

    3. Comedy Writing & Development Deals

    • Pitch and negotiate deals for talent to write or develop original comedy content, including sitcom pilots, sketch formats, and comedy specials

    4. Brand Partnerships

    • Source, secure and manage brand partnerships end to end with your roster of talent

    5. Contract & Deal Negotiation

    • Manage negotiations & contracts end to end across all types of commercial partnerships.
    • Ensure talent is protected while securing the most competitive terms

    6. Career Roadmapping

    • Build long-term comedy career strategies for talent on the roster, identifying the right sequencing of opportunities to grow their profile
    • Act as a trusted strategic partner and advocate for talent at every stage of their career

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
    • Proven experience in talent representation, comedy booking, or live entertainment
    • Deep knowledge of the UK (and ideally international) comedy circuit, festivals, and media landscape
    • Existing relationships with producers, promoters, venues, commissioners, and festival programmers
    • Strong negotiation skills with experience handling complex deal structures
    • A genuine passion for comedy and an eye for emerging talent
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
    • Driven individual with ability to operate autonomously within a close knit team in an entrepreneurial environment
