How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are seeking a skilled Bid Manager to lead and manage the end-to-end bid process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality proposals. This role in Cambridge requires a detail-oriented hands-on bids professional, comfortable working in an autonomous role.

    Our client is a well-established organisation providing services to corporate + higher education companies. They are a family ran business with a long history in their specialist market, currently looking for an experienced Bid Writer / Manager to join the team.

    Description

    The key responsibilities for the Bid Manager will include:

    Manage and coordinate the entire bid process from initial opportunity identification to submission.
    Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure bid documents meet organisational standards.
    Develop compelling and compliant content tailored to the requirements of the not-for-profit sector.
    Lead and facilitate bid strategy meetings to align stakeholders and define winning approaches.
    Ensure all deadlines are met while maintaining high-quality outputs.
    Analyse feedback from previous bids to enhance future proposals and processes.
    Maintain a database of bid documentation and templates for future use.
    Monitor market trends and identify new opportunities for growth and partnerships in the not-for-profit sector.Profile

    A successful Bid Manager should have:

    * 3+ years experience in a Bid Writing or Bid Management role
    * Experience working on Bids for higher education and / or public sector organisations
    * Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines effectively.
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills to create compelling and concise proposals.
    * A collaborative mindset and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
    * Strong analytical skills to evaluate opportunities and improve processes.
    * Proficiency in using bid management tools and software is desirable.
    * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
