How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    14-16 Provision Learning Support Assistant

    Term time only (36 weeks)

    Salary - Up to £21,945 (actual salary for full time hours working a full academic year)

    What we are looking for:

    * Experience working with young people aged 11-16, particularly those with SEND and or SEMH needs

    * Experience supporting students with EHCPs

    * Experience in Alternative Provision or similar settings

    * Calm, patient, resilient, and adaptable approach.

    * Ability to work in a small team

    * Good organisation skills and confidence using IT for administrative tasks

    * Good communication skills – written and verbal.

    * Able to use your own initiative and make decisions

    * GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English at grade C or above

    Duties/responsibilities:

    * To provide learning support for bespoke groups of students aged 14 – 16 years who are attending the 14 – 16 Alternative Provision at Nescot.

    * To encourage the engagement, resilience, and positive learning behaviours of students in lessons so that they have a sense of achievement and assist them in re-engaging in education.

    * To provide support to individual students and small groups in lessons, vocational sessions and interventions.

    * To assist students in identifying a pathway for Post 16.
