How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Gas Heating Engineers
    Greater Manchester | £38,500 - £41,600 + Van + Fuel + Benefits

    Due to continued growth, RJ Martindales Plumbing & Heating is looking to recruit experienced Senior Gas Heating Engineers across both:

    * Service & Breakdown
    * Installations

    The Role

    You'll be working across domestic heating systems throughout Greater Manchester carrying out:

    * Boiler installations, servicing and breakdown repairs
    * Heating and hot water fault finding
    * First fix through to final commissioning
    * Domestic Gas Safety inspections
    * Pipework and associated heating works
    * Ongoing diagnostics and problem solving
    * Working closely with a supportive office and management team

    The business continues to invest heavily in training, development and progression, giving engineers the opportunity to continue growing their careers long term.

    What We're Looking For

    We're looking for experienced, personable engineers who take real pride in their work and enjoy delivering a great customer experience.

    Essential:
    * 5+ years domestic heating experience
    * ACS qualifications (CCN1, CKR1, HTR1, CENWAT)
    * Gas Safe Registered
    * Strong fault-finding ability
    * Broad heating systems knowledge
    * Full UK Driving Licence

    Desirable:
    * G3 Unvented
    * Commercial gas, renewables or oil experience
    * Strong customer communication skills
