How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Responsibilities

Create and modify CNC programs using Fanuc and Mazak controls
Develop and improve manufacturing processes for CNC and manual machining operations
Produce and maintain manufacturing documentation, tooling details, setup information, and routings
Support production teams with technical issues, process improvements, and machining queries
Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities across the shop floor
Analyse manufacturing performance to identify efficiency and cost-saving opportunities
Support tooling, consumables, lubrication, and machine maintenance activities
Implement engineering changes and update production documentation where required
Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to improve manufacturing performance
Assist with process planning across machining, assembly, and testing operations
Ensure manufacturing activities comply with quality, health & safety, and environmental standards

    What They’re Looking For

Time-served engineering background or apprenticeship within manufacturing/mechanical engineering
HNC/HND in Mechanical or Production Engineering preferred
Previous experience within a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, or similar role
Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes including milling and turning
Experience with Fanuc and/or Mazak programming
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience using SAP or MRP systems would be beneficial
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

    Additional Information

Heavy manufacturing or precision engineering experience would be advantageous
Candidates must have the right to work in the UK
Security clearance may be required for successful applicants
