How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We’re working with a growing, specialist engineering business offering the chance to be involved in projects from concept through to commissioning—giving you real ownership and visibility of your work. If you’re an Electrical Design Engineer looking for more than just a desk-based role, this is an opportunity to gain hands-on project exposure in a high-impact, safety-critical environment.
    Electrical Design Engineer
    £30,000 - £40,000 + £4k Car Allowance, 10% Pension, Hybrid Working
    Cheshire Ref: 25406
    Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:
    * Design electrical and control systems in line with industry standards
    * Produce schematics, panel drawings, cable diagrams, and single line diagrams
    * Support electrical power distribution and control system architecture
    * Create and maintain EC&I documentation (P&IDs, cable schedules, instrument schedules)
    * Review and update engineering drawings and technical documentation
    * Apply EMC best practices (cable segregation, shielding, grounding)
    * Carry out site surveys and identify system improvements
    * Support commissioning, testing, and validation activities
    * Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
    * Assist with tenders and technical proposals
    Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:
    * 1 year+ experience in a similar role
    * AutoCAD Electrical (or similar) experience, training available
    * Experience producing electrical drawings and documentation
    * Understanding of EC&I documentation
