How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Project Manager

    Location: Spalding or Boston

    Salary: £50,000 – £60,000

    We are currently retained on a project to find an Engineering Project Manager to join a successful, and growing SME within the Food Manufacturing sector. This role could be the perfect transition for a current Project Engineer who's looking to make their first move into a Project Manager role.

    Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this role will be key in the growth and development of a complex food manufacturing site. The site is well-invested and operates on a relatively lean structure, allowing them to make decisions quickly and act accordingly – not waiting for multiple layers of sign-offs! You will be exposed to projects of varying scales, some underway and others pipelined for the near future.

    Role:

    * Lead/Assist end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, including capital investment, plant upgrades, and process optimisation initiatives. Plan and oversee all project matters.

    * Implement improvements and drive initiatives to ensure maximum effectiveness

    * Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets aligned with production schedules.

    * Ensure minimal disruption to manufacturing operations during project execution.

    * Act as the key interface between internal teams, suppliers, and contractors.

    * Provide regular project updates, risk assessments, and performance reports to senior leadership.

    * Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment and systems.

    * Ensure all projects are transferred fully to the maintenance and production teams.

    * Ensure all projects comply with food safety standards.

    * Embed hygienic design principles in all engineering solutions.

    * Work closely with Quality and Technical teams to meet regulatory and audit requirements.

    * Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental, and legal standards.

    * Develop and manage Capex & Revenue budgets and business cases.

    * Help to prepare budgets and forecasts for assigned activities in accordance with the budget

    * Review financial statements to measure productivity and to identify areas for process improvement, cost reduction and improved operational efficiency

    * Develop plans for new applications, technologies and design alternatives that offer benefits to both the manufacturing and other site functions

    * Operate as part of the site operations team facilitating good interdepartmental communications

    Person Spec / Experience:

    * Experience within Food Manufacturing industry

    * Previously lead / part-lead CAPEX projects

    * Team management and stakeholder management

    * Ability to make decisions quickly.

    * Data driven
