How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Placements Coordinator

We are looking for a proactive, highly organised individual who is driven to support young people and make a real impact behind the scenes of successful industry placement programmes.

As a Placement Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of delivery, supporting students and employers while ensuring that industry placements are appropriate, safe and fully compliant. This post is required to lead on finding, processing and monitoring industry placements for T Levels, which is a key growth area for our Colleges. Working closely with curriculum teams and the Careers and Placements Manager, you’ll keep learners on track, managing the essential paperwork and monitoring tools that underpin their professional development. This includes conducting site risk assessments, tracking student allocations and producing evaluative reports to ensure every placement meets high standards.

Acting as a key point of contact, you will confidently handle queries from students, external organisations, and parents or carers while actively building a network of employer partners. This role requires a sharp eye for detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google applications and CRM databases to maintain accurate records across multiple systems and support the promotion of work placements at college events.

If you have experience in a customer focused environment, possess strong administrative skills, and thrive in a collaborative team, this is a fantastic opportunity. If you have a working knowledge of T Level qualifications and Department for Education (DfE) requirements, this will be to your advantage in delivering a high quality support service.

For further details on this role, please refer to the attached job description and person specification.
