How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Company

    Our client is a highly respected and rapidly growing main contractor specialising in complex mission critical and data centre projects across the UK and internationally. Following the recent award of several major schemes, they have secured a strong pipeline of high-profile data centre developments and are now looking to appoint an experienced Technical Services Manager to join their delivery team on a flagship £250m data centre project in Canary Wharf.

    This is an outstanding opportunity to join a market-leading contractor renowned for delivering technically challenging projects to the highest standards, whilst offering excellent long-term career progression, exposure to major international projects, and one of the most attractive salary and package offerings in the sector.

    The Role

    Reporting directly to the Head of Technical Services, the Technical Services Manager will take responsibility for overseeing either the Mechanical or Electrical package depending on your technical bias and background.

    You will play a key role in the successful delivery of this major mission critical project, managing the technical coordination, commissioning strategy, subcontractor performance, and quality assurance of all MEP systems throughout the construction lifecycle.

    This position would suit an ambitious and technically strong individual with previous experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission critical, pharmaceutical, or highly serviced projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and oversee either the Mechanical or Electrical technical services package on a major data centre development

    * Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle

    * Ensure all MEP installations are delivered in line with design specifications, programme requirements, and commissioning strategies

    * Work closely with the project delivery team to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently

    * Review technical drawings, specifications, and submittals

    * Support commissioning activities, system integration, and client handover processes

    * Monitor quality, compliance, and health & safety standards across all technical services works

    * Attend and lead technical coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders

    * Drive programme and commercial performance through proactive management of technical packages

    Requirements

    * Previous experience working as a Technical Services Manager, Building Services Manager, or similar role

    * Strong Mechanical or Electrical bias/background

    * Experience delivering large-scale data centre, mission critical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or major commercial projects

    * Main contractor experience preferred

    * Excellent technical knowledge of MEP systems and commissioning processes

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

    * Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-performing project environment

    What’s on Offer

    * Highly competitive basic salary

    * Excellent bonus structure

    * Attractive benefits package

    * Opportunity to work on one of London’s flagship data centre developments

    * Clear progression opportunities within a growing international business

    * Exposure to future UK and international mission critical projects

    * Collaborative and forward-thinking company culture
