How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Contract: 3 months (likely extention)
    Rate: £600 per day (Umbrella)

Transform the structure. Strengthen leadership. Create lasting impact.

A large, high‑profile organisation in the Ealing area is embarking on a critical phase of its transformation journey. With a workforce of over 2,600 employees across six diverse directorates, this organisation is taking a fresh, evidence‑led look at how it is structured - and needs an expert to lead the way.

We are seeking an experienced OD Specialist - Spans & Levels to deliver a strategic review of organisational layers, management spans, and structural effectiveness. Your work will directly influence senior leadership decisions and shape how the organisation operates for years to come.

This role is ideal for an OD professional who enjoys untangling complexity, working with data, and turning insight into practical, implementable change.

    The Opportunity

You will lead a high‑impact piece of work that sits at the heart of organisational effectiveness. Acting as the subject‑matter expert, you'll partner with senior leaders to challenge existing structures, identify opportunities for simplification, and design models that enable stronger leadership capacity and improved performance.

    What You'll Be Doing

Lead a comprehensive spans and layers review across six directorates.
Analyse organisational structures, management ratios, and reporting lines to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
Benchmark against best practice and comparable organisations to inform future‑focused design.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, using insight and data to influence decision‑making.
Develop clear, compelling recommendations that balance efficiency, capability, and service delivery.
Support the implementation of agreed changes, including stakeholder engagement and communications.
Produce concise, high‑quality reports outlining key findings, risks, and benefits.
Evaluate post‑implementation impact to ensure outcomes are realised.

    What We're Looking For

Strong, demonstrable experience in organisational design, particularly spans & layers or structural reviews.
Background working in large, complex organisations (public sector experience advantageous).
Highly developed analytical skills with confidence working with workforce and structural data.
Gravitas and credibility to influence at senior leadership level.
Sound understanding of OD frameworks, workforce planning, and job evaluation.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and HRIS systems desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into clarity.

    Qualifications

Degree in HR, Business, Organisational Psychology, or a related field.
Postgraduate qualification or OD accreditation desirable.

    Why Apply?

High‑profile, visible assignment with real organisational impact
Opportunity to shape structure at scale
    Senior stakeholder exposure
Competitive day rate and flexible hybrid working
Strong potential for extension based on delivery
