As a specialist recruiter supporting independent and regional accountancy firms across the West Midlands, I'm currently partnering with a well-established and highly regarded practice in Dudley to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant.

The Opportunity
The successful candidate will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, working closely with partners while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.
The role offers a blend of compliance and advisory exposure, making it ideal for someone who enjoys client interaction and adding value beyond year-end accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities
. Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
. Corporation tax and personal tax computations
. Management accounts and VAT returns
. Acting as a primary point of contact for clients
. Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance
. Identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services

Candidate Profile
. ACA / ACCA qualified (or strong QBE considered)
. Proven experience within UK accountancy practice
. Confident managing a client portfolio
. Strong technical knowledge across accounts and taxation
. Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset
. Experience with cloud-based software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) advantageous
