How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The successful candidate will handle a broad mix of contentious and non contentious insolvency matters while supporting the continued growth of the practice.

The role would suit an ambitious senior lawyer with an established client following and strong business development capabilities. There will also be opportunities to work closely with colleagues across Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, and other practice areas on cross disciplinary matters.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Advise clients on a wide range of restructuring and insolvency matters.
    • Draft, negotiate, and manage complex insolvency and restructuring documentation.
    • Provide strategic and commercially focused legal advice to insolvency practitioners, directors, lenders, creditors, and corporate clients.
    • Support departmental fee earning objectives and contribute to the wider success of the firm through cross referrals and collaborative working.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships with a focus on client retention and business development.
    • Supervise, mentor, and support junior lawyers and wider team members.
    • Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with applicable regulatory and AML requirements.
    • Promote effective matter management, financial control, billing, and time recording practices.
    • Assist in the ongoing development and growth of the restructuring and insolvency practice.
    • Participate in networking, marketing, and business development initiatives both within and outside normal working hours where appropriate.

    Skills & Experience Required

    • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales with significant experience in restructuring and insolvency matters (contentious and non contentious).
    • Proven technical expertise and strong drafting skills.
    • Established client following and demonstrable business development success.
    • Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic approach to client service.
    • Experience leading and developing teams, including mentoring and supervision responsibilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads effectively and prioritise competing demands.
    • Proficiency with legal IT systems and case management platforms.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to join a respected commercial law firm with a strong international network, collaborative culture, and ambitious growth plans. The role offers autonomy, high-quality work, and the chance to play a key role in expanding an established restructuring and insolvency practice within a supportive and entrepreneurial environment.
