How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Then this is an amazing opportunity for you!


    We are working with a forward-thinking, all-through Academy Trust in North London who are currently recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their schools in September.


    The Role

    As a Graduate Teaching Assistant you will be supporting pupils working at all levels including children with Special Educational Needs within a class or across a year group.


    Your role will include:

    • Providing support to individual students and groups within the class ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.
    • Leading small groups in English, Maths, phonics and reading
    • Working with students with SEN and additional learning needs
    • Supporting the preparation of classes including resources and equipment
    • Assisting with assessments/observations where required
    • Assisting with extra-curricular events and initiatives
    • Providing support during break and lunchtimes as required


    To apply for this role you must have:

    • A Bachelors degree
    • A minimum of Grade C/4 in GCSE English and GCSE Maths
    • An interest in pursuing a career in education
    • Strong verbal and written English
    • Excellent communication skill
    • A calm and approachable manner

Within their primary school settings, the trust ensures a small and welcoming environment with access to a range of facilities.     All Graduate Teaching Assistant roles are offered on an academic year contract from September 2026 to July 2027. There will be opportunities after this contract for outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistants to continue with the school in to the following academic year to complete their initial teacher training via the paid SCITT programme.


    In order to be considered for one of these roles, you will be required to complete the registration process with Philosophy Education and be available to attend the school in June for either a group or individual interview (dates tbc).
