How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What We Offer

    Salary:

    Unqualified Lecturer: £29,294 per year

    Qualified Lecturer: £31,885 - £40,814 per year (Depending on Skills, Qualifications & Experience)

    Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

    What You’ll Do

    *

    Teach and assess learners across Public Services programmes, including full-time courses and enrichment activities

    *

    Deliver engaging and inclusive sessions across classroom-based, practical, and outdoor learning environments

    *

    Support learners in developing key skills such as leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, resilience, and physical preparedness

    *

    Embed current knowledge of the public services sector, including professionalism, equality, diversity, citizenship, and community awareness

    *

    Maintain high standards of safeguarding, learner support, and professionalism

    *

    Track learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement, progression, and career readiness

    What You’ll Bring

    *

    A Level 3 or above qualification in Public Services, Uniformed Protective Services, Sport, Leadership, Criminology, or a related subject

    *

    Relevant industry experience within public services, such as the emergency services, military, policing, security, or wider public sector environments

    *

    Knowledge of current public services practices, employability skills, and learner development

    *

    Experience supporting, mentoring, coaching, or developing others in a professional setting

    *

    A teaching qualification is welcomed — but if you don’t have one yet, we’ll support you to achieve it while you work
