How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Behaviour Specialist HLTA - Monmouthshire (September Start)
Pay: £100.00-£130.00 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting pupils who need calm, consistent behaviour support to thrive in school? Aspire People are recruiting for a Behaviour Specialist HLTA to work in Monmouthshire from September. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who excels at building strong relationships, supporting emotional regulation, and helping learners re‑engage with education.
    The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist HLTA, you'll be a key part of the school's support framework-working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and ALN/SEN staff to promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, structured learning environment.
    Key Responsibilities

Targeted behaviour support: Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions to improve engagement, emotional regulation and readiness to learn
Positive behaviour & de‑escalation: Apply consistent strategies to minimise disruption and support pupils back into the classroom
HLTA responsibilities: Lead learning activities, deliver planned sessions and provide high‑quality cover where required
Pastoral support: Assist pupils with routines, transitions and reintegration following behavioural incidents
Collaborative working: Support individual behaviour plans alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams and ALN/SEN colleagues
Safeguarding: Record and report concerns in line with school safeguarding procedures

    The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking someone calm, resilient and proactive, with a genuine commitment to supporting young people:

Experience working with children or young people in an education or support setting
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
Confidence leading learning and interventions at HLTA level
Excellent communication skills and a team‑focused approach

Desirable (but not essential): Experience supporting learners with SEMH, EBD, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, anxiety and/or ALN.
    Why Aspire People?
You'll be supported by a specialist education consultant and considered for additional opportunities across Wales.
