How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer (Machine Tools)

    Field based role, commutable from Manchester, Bradford, Leeds, Bolton, Wigan and the surrounding areas.

    Are you an aspiring Field Service Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Service, CNC or Machining looking to massively develop your skillset with a leading OEM CNC manufacturer, where you can become a product expert and go-to engineer working on state-of-the-art equipment while receiving full specialist training and long-term development?

    On offer is a field-based role where you will join a close-knit team of technical experts and receive extensive training in the servicing and maintenance of machine tools, allowing you to develop your skills, take on greater responsibility, and progress into mentoring or leadership positions while working with cutting-edge technology.

    The company are a UK-based manufacturer and supplier of CNC and manual machine tools, providing a wide range of milling machines, lathes, machining centres, grinders and turning centres for engineering and manufacturing industries. They invest heavily into their employee's technical development further fostering them to become experts within the industry.

    This is a field service role with regular stays away where you will be responsible for servicing and repairing Machine Tools throughout a local patch all whilst progressing through the business and taking on more responsibility technically within the business.

    The role would suit someone from aspiring to be a Field Service Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Service, CNC or Machining.

    The Role:
    *6-week training course
    *Servicing and Commissioning of Tooling Machines
    *Field Based
    *Stays away (Premier Inn Card Provided)

    *Servicing background within Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Service, CNC or Machining
    *Full UK Drivers Licence
